Casting for the musical “Sleepy Hollow” – NYC

Be Bold! Productions, in Residence at the historic Players Theatre in the West Village will hold open call auditions for an original musical “Sleepy Hollow” (based on the “Legend of Sleepy Hollow”) on Tuesday, August 4th at 11a at the Players Theatre – 115 MacDougal Street (between West 3rd and Bleecker) in Studio 3A – 3rd Floor.

Sleepy Hollow will open on September 27 and run through November 8 on Friday & Saturday’s at 7p and Sundays at 3p with some additional midweek matinees.  Pay is $20 a performance – no pay for rehearsals. Non-union. Seeking male an female actors who sing and dancers for the following roles:

 CAST BREAKDOWN

Ichabod Crane – 25-40 Bari-Tenor a roving school master new to Sleepy Hollow who longs for the finer things in life.  He has a past that he tries to keep hidden – especially from himself – but the headless horseman can smell his darker side and they do battle

Crane Sings: “Not in Love Song”

Katrina Van Tassel – 18-25 Mezzo-Soprano with a strong belt. Bold and feisty but quite naive – the most popular girl in town and from the wealthiest family.

Katina Sings: “He’s the One”

Brom Bones – 18-25 – Baritone – Strapping young local hero.  Good natured but childish.  Rowdy and overly confident in his physical abilities.  Not well educated but street smart.  Loves Katrina but loves being a “boy” more.

Lady Van Tassel – 40 – 55 Mezzo- Soprano.  Strong Dutch woman.  Wealthy,Well-bred, Gracious and elegant but never snobbish.  Appears to be satisfied with her life but in reality she mourns for her wasted youth and laments her passionless life.

Anna:18-25 – Soprano with a strong earthy tone.  Katrina’s best friend.  Shy and living in Katrina’s shadow but longs to be noticed.  Has a crush on Ichabod Crane.

Please bring 16 bars of a standard musical theatre song – accompanist will be provided.

Dancers:
We are seeking 4 incredible dancers, Male & Female, who can sing to portray the hollow.  Modern ballet – interpretative style.   One male dancer will play the Headless Horseman.
